Where Art Can Occur (WACO) was founded in 2017 by Richard and Tina Knowles Lawson. The organization is dedicated to the empowerment of Los Angeles artists and young people, and stories of the African Diaspora. WACO presents, commissions, and develops artistic works to provide a platform and voice to showcase the creativity of the community 

CJAM Consulting was engaged in December of 2021 to lead and complete a proposal response to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs for the management, operations, programming and engagement of the Vision Theatre and the Manchester Junior Arts Center. In collaboration with leadership, CJAM assembled a proposal and design team and drove the compilation and assembly of materials to respond to the request for proposal. This scope of work included:

·   Project discovery research and administration

·   Programming & marketing summary

·   Operating model summary

·   Financial Model

·   Technical design and production- theatrical systems and specifications planning

·   BIP outreach and documentation

·   RFP graphic design & assembly

Working closely with the staff and artistic community, CJAM assembled a complete designed response to the proposal that envisioned a new home for WACO as they continue to create more opportunities to invest deeply in Black art and artists in the Los Angeles area.
